Mark Murphy

Mark came to Byfields in 1983 with nine years experience at senior level positions with the Australian Tax Office and eight years experience in large and middle tiered Chartered Accounting firms. Mark became a Byfields Partner in 1985. As a Registered Company Liquidator, Mark has administered many Liquidations, Receiverships and Official Managements and is now responsible for the income tax and accounting for a large group of Byfields clients. Mark is married with three children and enjoys fishing, music and golf. He has a keen interest in all sports. He currently holds a level 2 coaching accreditation in Australian Rules Football, plays inline (roller blade) hockey and is a Board Member of Roller Sports Australia.

Neil Hooper

Neil grew up on the family farm in Merredin before heading to Perth for university studies where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1988. He worked as an accountant in Perth until he returned to Merredin in 1992 when he joined Byfields, and he has been servicing farmer clients since that time. Neil transferred to Byfields Ascot office in 2006 and continues to service predominately farmer clients from Geraldton to Esperance. Neil became a partner of Byfields in 1996 and specialises in farm accounting and taxation, with a special interest in succession planning. He is a Certified Practising Accountant as well as a Chartered Accountant. Neil has been involved in numerous community and sporting organisations in the past and currently provides financial counselling to cancer patients via the Cancer Council of WA on a pro bono basis. Neil is married to Megan and has four children Laura, Lucinda, Alexander and Amelia and his interests include his children's' sport and football.

Craig Lane

Craig is a Certified Practising Accountant providing taxation and business services to farmers and small businesses. He graduated from Curtin University in 1996 and commenced work with Byfields in 1997, becoming a partner in the business in 2004. Over 14 years of continuous service in the Merredin office has given Craig a unique understanding of the issues facing the Wheatbelt. Craig is married to Nicola with young children Chloe and Josh, plays cricket in the summer and umpires football in the winter, and is now enjoying the improved performances of his beloved West Coast Eagles.

Simon Northey

Simon is a Certified Practising Accountant providing taxation and business services to farmers and small businesses. He graduated from Curtin University and commenced work with Byfields in 1987, becoming a partner in the business in 1993. Initially commenced with Byfields Northam then moved to Merredin to manage the Merredin office until relocating back to Northam office in 1993. Simon enjoys the country way of life with his wife Larissa and their three children and is actively involved with the children's sport and local community groups. Simon also doesn't mind a game of golf when time permits!

Dale Woodruff

Dale Woodruff is a CPA Accountant who has been providing taxation and business services since 1993. Dale became a partner with Byfields on 1 July 2000. Dale provides taxation, accounting and succession advice to a diverse client base. Dale has been a Partner in the Northam & Perth offices and is now based in the Narrogin office which he established in 2007. Dale has two young children (Emma & Ben) and is involved heavily in the local Narrogin community including the golf and tennis clubs and school board.

Glenn provides taxation, accounting and general business advice to a diverse client base. Glenn is married with two young children and in his spare time plays cricket where he is on the executive committee of his club, enjoys a game of golf and watching the AFL.

Jon Bush

Jon commenced his accounting career with a boutique Chartered firm in West Perth before shifting to Merredin in 2003 to start with Byfields. Here Jon worked with primary producers and reaffirmed his passion for the industry and people. Jon then moved to the Byfields Perth office to facilitate the purchase of a rural accounting practice. He has continued to provide accounting and tax services to these clients for the last 6 years. In July 2010, Jon became Partner in the practice. Jon's family has been involved in agriculture in WA for many years, with his father Charlie being well known to Case IH owners. Jon's goal is to continue to service his rural clients, and earn a reputation as being someone who is prepared to give a bit back to his clients and their communities.

Leanne Oliver

Leanne is a Certified Practising Accountant who has been with Byfields since 1998 and was made a partner in July 2007. Leanne started her career in taxation and business services, before switching to auditing and now heads up this division of our practice. Leanne is married with two children and resides in Northam, she splits her time between the Northam and Ascot offices as she is committed to continue her service of rural communities.
